Morning Coffee with Jessica Gomez

Today Jessica Gomez has come for morning coffee!

Good morning and welcome….come and sit, we can enjoy the back porch this morning as spring has the best mornings! Maybe we can see a hummingbird or two! So, what can I get you to drink?

I’m pretty lame and actually prefer water. Lol Ice cold water is best.  71NresXsQnL._UX250_

I think that will be the easiest drink I’ll make all day! Me, I’ll have a cup of Cafe Ole Texas Pecan with caramel…mmmhhhmmm.

That does sound mighty interesting. I always wonder how people keep track of the different flavors of coffee or mochas.

Once you have a good flavor, it’s not hard. Just like ordering dinner – you remember what you liked. My first Starbucks was back in 2001 in Phoenix. The friend who took me ordered for me, as I had never been to one, a Grande Caramel White Mocha. That my dear is my favorite drink there! I have never forgotten that delicious sweet flavor. The only thing that has changed since then is I now get it with soy milk. Yummmmm.

I remember meeting you in San Antonio in 2016 (I think, lol) and I know we are part of a group, Reading Past Midnight… but did we meet before then or just in the group? Hmmm, memory, oh memory… where art thou? 🙂

Actually, I’m not sure. Lol I know we were in RPM before we met in Texas, so I think we were friends on FB for a while but then solidified it when we met in Texas. Don’t worry, my memory is not much better. Hard to remember the dates with so much going on all the time.

I’ve been in Texas now five years and I know you are in Oregon…have you always lived there?

Sure have! I’m an Oregonian thru and thru. Love the green mountains, ocean, and rain! Smells so good after a thunderstorm.

Oh, I can just imagine the way it smells after a rain. Goodness, I need to go visit there so I can experience that. I do love a good rain. So tell us Jessica outside of the book world, what do you do?

I married my high school sweetheart, we been together for almost 20 years. We have two kids that are 17 and 13 that keep us on our toes. I work full-time at a Casino, but not good at gambling. Lol On any off time, I write of course, but also love to camp, garden, and bbq with friends and family. Love the outdoors! Nothing better than sitting by a body of water with the fire cranked, cooking smores.

Never even stepped into a casino… Is that a big business where you live?

I live in a pretty small town, about 16,000 people. The casino is larger than most and does have a lot of traffic. It’s pretty interesting. The different people you meet are interesting.

Now, the outdoors is a place I love as well. Garden? Awesome, what do you grow? For a few years the hubs and I had extensive gardens, but with him traveling so much the garden size has gone down to make it more manageable for myself. I do a lot of herbs continuously but the veggie garden is next to none now. Do you fish?

My favorite thing to grow is pumpkins! Lol I planted several different kinds, so you get a variety from large and small, to orange and blue. They’re fun for the kids. I have quite a few nieces and nephews. I also grow corn, several peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and zucchini. I’ve cut down on the size of ours recently as well. I don’t have time like I used to. Plus, I also play with my flowerbeds more and that take up quite a bit more time.

My husband and I used to fish all the time. We still do when we camp, or get a free moment, but not near as much as we used to.

Blue pumpkins are something I have heard of but never seen! How fun for all the kids! Right now in our garden bed I have nothing but garlic! There is like 25 or more growing. I figure if I did a large batch I wouldn’t need any for a year or more! I cook with garlic often, so I tend to go through it a bit.

Agree! I add garlic and onion to almost everything I cook. I don’t eat onion any other way because I don’t care much for it, but putting it in your food give it an extra humph!

Flowers… now you have me! I have flowers and plants all over the back porch, flower bed in the back and front of the house and my plants indoors. They give me a sense of peace and the natural beauty is incomparable.

When I get everything organized, I’ll shoot you a picture! I love showing it off. lol

I completely understand not having time for things like fishing. I’ve gone more in the month of March than I have in the last three years.

Tell me, what do you have happening in your writing world. Anything new coming up?

I took the last few months off, but am now back in the action, and writing book 3 in the Flash series, Evolved. I’m extremely excited about the third installment. This is the last book that will host Lillie and Ian as the main couple in the series. The series itself will continue and will also have Lillie and Ian involved. I think it’s time to get up close and personal with some of the other characters in the book. Besides, the Flash series, I’m also starting an Alpha Romance. Spicing things up a bit.

Here’s my Amazon link to keep caught up.

Thank you so much for taking the time to sit and chat with me! It’s always great to hear from you and get more than our passing moment between our schedules. I’m always up for a chat!
